Dan: You know, it sounds bad but it’s because we have an understanding. Our iciness towards other people while we sleep is mutual.
Mike: A manderstanding.
Dan: A manderstanding! And we have man-dams, which are usually made of pillows just in case somebody’s been drinking too much or gets a little lonely.

“Steve jumped in right away and the first time we played in a live setting was on MTV Live, and then after that was Jimmy Eat World so, if there’s any other way to jump head first, it’s live TV and opening up for a bigger band.”

Well, I had a bunch of songs that I recorded and then some DJs started playing them in New York. Labels started coming after me and we recorded a record.

I think we’re just trying to play what we love and like what we came up with and just hope people understand, and kind of like, grip a hold of the lyrics, grip a hold of what we’re trying to do as a whole and kind of understand the concept that is our band.

I think there’s some good stuff and there’s a lot of boring stuff. I think nowadays it’s so kind of cut-throat, I don’t know who’s to blame for it, I think it’s a little bit of everything, labels have money that they need to make to stay alive, bands have to sell records to stay on labels so they can keep doing what they’re doing and then with illegal downloading it hurts the labels so there’s less quality music out there. It’s time for real artists and bands to build …

I think when we come together as a band to write songs we don’t really think about other people, we’re kind of thinking about what makes us feel good when we’re playing the songs and what can we do to further our careers and make ourselves better, I think.

I think it’s awesome, because it’s somebody who has seen what it’s like to be in a band, and grow as a band, and knows what it really takes to try and make that happen.

I look at it as an old journal entry, from when you like sixteen or seventeen, and like you can think about where you were in high school, and you can say, yeah, that’s where I once was, but it’s not a place you want to be again.
